Margaret Daly

Hello, and a little bit about me!

Gina and I  have been long time friends and set up our company Anu Community Healthcare Ltd in 2014. We started off with doing health and wellness workshops and Mindfulness courses. We then became authorised Trainers for Decider Courses in Ireland in 2016, and have been facilitating these One day Decider Life Skills and Two day Decider Skills courses since.

I began my mental health nursing career in 1984 at St Brigids’ Hospital Ballinasloe. I completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree at NUIG now University of Galway,  in History and Sociology.

I nursed for one year  at St Patrick s’ Hospital Dublin and I taught Sociology to student nurses there. That experience began my life long interest in training and education, which I have pursued.

I subsequently joined the former Midland Health Board  as a nurse in the community mental health services in Athlone in 1991.

I completed a Diploma in Counselling with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). I later completed a Diploma in Social Care in Mental Health with NUIG. I was always interested in older people and then did a Diploma in Nursing care of the Elderly at Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) now Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). I also completed an Age Equality Trainers programme with Age & Opportunity  Ireland.

I moved into education and nurse practice development in 2002 within mental health in the HSE and worked there until 2019.  I qualified as a Certified Life Coach in 2007.

I completed a Masters of Science in Healthcare Management with the RCSI in 2010.

I trained in Mindfulness in 2013 and have integrated this in my own work and  life since. I trained in Decider Skills in 2014. I completed a Diploma in Leadership and Quality in Healthcare with the Royal College of Physicians Ireland  in 2016.

I retired from the HSE in 2019 and continue to love delivering courses through our company Anú Community Healthcare Ireland Ltd.

I am a very proud mother to four grown children and love their visits as all now live away from me.
