Gina Reynolds

Hello everyone,

My name is Gina and I am the other half of Anú Community Healthcare Ltd.

As Margaret has stated in her profile we have been friends since our training as psychiatric nurses in St. Brigid’s Hospital Ballinasloe almost 40 years ago!!

We set up our company Anú Community Healthcare Ltd in 2014 and have been delivering various courses since then.

I have spent most of my professional career working in community adult mental health, based primarily with the Athlone and Mullingar services.

In the early days I worked in the day centre and hostels in Athlone during a time when we were transitioning from the large psychiatric hospital care to community based care. It was a lovely time to work in mental health and I really enjoyed my time there.

I spent 5 years working with APT as an employment officer supporting people with mental health difficulties back into employment, education or courses. This was a very challenging but extremely rewarding work.

I subsequently returned to the mental health teams and worked as a clinical nurse specialist until my retirement in 2019.

During all these years I pursued many academic and professional qualifications

I completed a BSc Health Science with the Open University, Diploma in Counselling with the Royal College of Surgeons  (RCSI).

I trained as a Mindfulness Facilitator in 2010 with the Mindful Academy in Spain.

I then had the wonderful opportunity to train as a DBT Therapist with the Midlands team (Mullingar, Athlone and Longford) and worked on this team for about 15 years.

It has been a great privilege for me to deliver The Decider program with Margaret since 2016. We have had the most wonderful time meeting fantastic people working in often difficult and challenging environments.

I have a very busy home life at present. We have four grown up daughters living locally, with currently 4 grandchildren, 3 dogs, 4 cats and 5 hens!!

I practice my mindfulness through gardening and flower arranging!!
